  1. Marilyn,

My Name is Joe French, and My DNA Y Certificate puts my in Haplogroup G2a and based on some research it appears my Grandfather, James Franklin French is the brother of William L. French.

I have seen some census documents during a trail on ancestry.com that confirms James Franklin French as the son of William M. and Elizabeth (Trobaugh). Interesting find, their next door neighbor (farm) was the Trobaugh's, which I believe to be her parents (not confirmed).

Would you happen to have any documents that state William L. had a brother named James Franklin?

  2. Correction, James Franklin was the son of William Andrew (Andy) French, the bother of William L.

I also just found a chart at http://dmfrench79.blogspot.com/
    that confirms it.

  4. Hi Joe-Welcome - Is this Joe Lester French? Did you submit DNA for Group 4 French? Which test is yours?
The chart on Michael French blog is a compilation using the histories submitters gave when they gave DNA. So it is as correct as far as we know. You can view Marvin French website which contains further info at :
