I received the following from Mara French: ........................... I’ve completed the draft version of this chart very hurridly, mostly to find out how the first generation ties in with the others from DNA Test Group 4. I will make another update when I have sufficient information. Going thru ancestry.com, I found 61 U.S. Naturalization Records. Samuel Sr. would have had to immigrate no later than 1783 in order to have his son who was born in Kentucky. The earliest record listed is a French born in 1817, so no luck there. Then looking up the name Frantz, I find 97 emigrants, the earliest Frantz listed was 1849. We just need earlier dates.
I have "map guide to census" by Dollarhide.his map 1790 shows KY as part of Virginia, possibly a bit of Southwest Territory on the south.they started to divide it in 1779 but parts were under dispute until re-survey 1859. what county do you need? Linda
I don't think counties were involved before 1800.(I may be wrong) Anyway, when we see b. KY, we tend to think the state as we know it. KY terr. may have included part of OH in those days. Census says Philip French b.1790 in KY. we know he was in Butler co. OH (Cincinnati) area in 1810 census.
according to what I'm looking at in Map Guide as above in 1790 I see present day Butler and Ohio Co. with outline of Virginia overset showing NE 1/2 of Butler in Nelson Co,VA and SW 1/2 in Lincoln Co,VA. Ohio looks to be all in Nelson Co,VA. I can try and scan and post to my new blog http://texas44lfd.blogspot.com let me know if you can view OK. Linda

I don't know about using FFA info as FACT. There is a lot of "guessing" and "possibles" too. perhaps the two DNA submitters would like to decide if they should be joined? so far the submitter/researcher for Jonathan has not replied to my emails. Has anyone heard recently from Rev Tommy or has an address so we can write him? Linda Tim, thanks for the offer of lookups. Sounds like a neat book. I am offering lookups too when I get to it. I would be very hesitant to accept as fact the statements in "prairie pioneers" unless it could all be proven with other hard copies..census, tax, land & historical records. After having researched for several years, and joining DAR, you can't have too many documents to prove it.
Does anyone know what evidence has been used to support the statement that a "Samuel French" is the father of George Hedges French and George's brother Samuel French both of Orange County, Indiana?

Does anyone have a map of Kentucky territory in 1783? How far north did it go?

Rev Tommy's line (F57209) from Jonathan is included in Chart #194 under Samuel. Should we combine these two threads somehow?
